Alumni Making a Difference: Meet Treava Hopkins-Laboy

Treava Hopkins-Laboy is an accomplished author, seasoned government executive, and advocate for education and storytelling. As a proud alumna of Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç, where she earned Associate of Arts degrees in Paralegal Studies and General Studies, she is thrilled to announce the release of her latest children¡¯s book, new window. This book is part of her Josiah Henson children¡¯s series, introducing young readers to the remarkable story of Josiah Henson, a pivotal historical figure from Montgomery Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç.

Beyond her literary accomplishments, Treava's multifaceted career includes roles as both a model and actress. She also serves on several non-profit boards and holds positions as a commissioner on the Montgomery Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Commission on Remembrance and Reconciliation and the Montgomery Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Merit Systems Protection Board.
