Physical Wellness

Maintaining physical wellness and self-care is paramount for college students¡¯ academic success. The College provides several wellness activities, including exercise classes led by certified instructors, healthy eating challenges, and flu vaccinations at no cost to students. These programs specifically address being active and staying healthy.
The Student Wellness Center is partnering with I Support the Girls (ISG) to provide free, brand-new bras to MC students only! Registration is open now through March 31, 2025, but supplies are limited and not all sizes are available.
How It Works:

- Max 2 bras per student ¨C If available in your size.
- Bras will be mailed after March 31, 2025 ¨C All at once.
- Check your email ¨C If we cannot fulfill your request, we¡¯ll notify you.
- Accurate mailing info is required ¨C Incorrect info = no bras.
Every package includes breast health education, including how to conduct a breast self-exam & measure for your correct bra size.

This clinic is established with a partnership with Montgomery Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Public Health Services to address the need for accessible STI and HIV screenings for improved health of MC students. This is an opportunity for education, support, and access to additional resources. The screenings will happen every week on Tuesdays on GT, RV, and TPSS campuses as a walk-in service on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Monthly on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

- 2nd Tuesdays in ST302 on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus
- 3rd Tuesdays in BE160 on the Germantown campus
Join us for a special Heart-Centered Yoga Series, a 3-session pop-up event designed to promote relaxation, mindfulness, and inner balance. Offered in partnership between the Student Wellness Center and MC Wellness, this series is open to both employees and students and will be held in the Quiet Room (SV001) at the Rockville Campus.
Led by experienced instructor Catherine Comstock, each 45-minute session will guide participants through gentle, heart-centered yoga practices that foster self-care, stress relief, and well-being.

Join us for an interactive and empowering Hands-On CPR & AED Training led by Prof. Beth Ridings, co-sponsored by the Employee Wellness Program and the Student Wellness Center.
In this 1-hour hands-on learning experience, Prof. Ridings will guide participants through essential skills for CPR and heart health. You¡¯ll gain practical knowledge about how to respond in emergency situations, including performing effective chest compressions and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
This session is designed to provide you with confidence and the ability to take quick action during cardiac emergencies¡ªwhether at work, on campus, or in your community.
Don¡¯t miss this opportunity to learn life-saving techniques in an engaging and supportive environment. All skill levels are welcome!

Join us for an informative session on Eating for a Healthy Heart, sponsored by MC Wellness and the Student Wellness Center. The Student Wellness Center and MC Wellness, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente, are offering free biometric health screenings for Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç employees and students. Stop by the Kaiser Permanente Mobile Van on the Rockville Campus on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed for lunch from 1:00¨C1:45 p.m.).
Screenings include blood pressure, diabetes (A1c), cholesterol (non-fasting), BMI (height/weight), and health education¡ªall at NO COST! Walk-ins are welcome for employees, while students are encouraged to schedule an appointment every 15 minutes. Take charge of your health and Know Your Numbers!
