Awards and Honors
The Challenge and Graduate Transition Programs at Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç provide excellence in Developmental Education and Workforce Access. The program, faculty and staff are highly qualified and have earned some well deserved honors.
- Richard Nalley was awarded the Outstanding Part-time Faculty award 2024.
- Karla Nabors was the proud recipient of the Maryland General Assembly Official Citation for fostering positive Change in the Community, Feb. 2024.
- Emily Ackerman was the Proud recipient of the Maryland General Assembly Official Citation for her leadership and commitment to public Service, Feb. 2024
- Emily Ackerman was awarded the Montgomery Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Democratic Rosalie Reilly Life time Service Award, Oct. 2023.
- Karla Nabors, Program Director was appointed to the Montgomery Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Commission for People with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, Sept. 2023.
- Hannah Tolker was recognized by Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç for Teaching Excellence and Professionalism in May, 2019.
- Karla Nabors was awarded the first Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Staff of the Year Award in 2016.
- Stephanie Solyst was awarded the Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Outstanding Faculty Award in 2015.
- Emily Ackerman was awarded the Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Outstanding Faculty Award in 2013.
- The Graduate Transition Program is the proud recipient of the 2007 Community College Future Assembly Bellwether Award. Recognized as one of the top ten programs in the nation.
- Richard Nalley was awarded the Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç Outstanding Faculty Award in 2002.
- Karla Nabors, program director, was presented the Montgomery Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç 2002 Margit Meissner Transition In Excellence Award for her work with the Graduate Transition Program at Ë«Ó®ÓéÀÖ³Ç.
